Education
Miko L. Balisi is an emerging young scholar in primary health care management, public health, and nutritional research; youth empowerment and leadership; and social development. He started his career in research when he entered Food and Nutrition Research Institute in the Philippines (FNRI) as Science Research Analyst. After working in FNRI, he then served as Project Officer in Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC) where he was trained in project and program management. Miko, then transferred the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development and worked as Science Research Analyst where he managed researches funded by the government of the Philippines. A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas with the degree of Nutrition and Dietetics, Miko is also a registered Nutritionist-Dietician in the Philippines. Miko continued his academic pursuit with the Master of Science in Public Health in University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Medical Memorial College Inc., where he completed all the coursework of program. He left the Philippines in 2014 when he received a scholarship in Mahidol University, ASEAN Institute for Health Development in Thailand where he is pursued and got the degree of Master of Primary Health Care Management (MPHM).
Experience
I have had extensive experience in health research, nutrition research, and project and program management which gives me varied skills and the ability to work with different types of people in all level in an organization. Further, my education and work experience gave me the ability to liaise, communicate, and represent the office to partner organizations and stakeholders.
